We will teach you how to kill bed bugs
Bed Bug Menace – How To Exterminate Them
In our life we want to be rid of some elements. They are dubious people; happenings and stuff that we want to remove and not remember.
The list will certainly include bed bugs. Bed bugs are small, crawling pests that flourish in the shadowy areas in your home, where small cracks and holes are plentiful
As the bed bugs are very small they are rarely visible without magnification. To observe bed bugs and view them closely we have to use a magnifying glass or lenses.
The blood of the hosts is ****** by the bed bugs. Your pet, you and also your housemate may be the reluctant and innocent host.
The bites made by bed bugs may be very irritating and uncomfortable, though medical doctors and experts assure us that they are harmless, since they do not hold diseases in their system.
Similar to bites of mosquitoes and other insects the bite of bed bug is also scratchy and inflamed .That is why a bed bug bite is treated as a skin ailment although it is not a serious medical hazard.
You may collect a lot of wounds due to scratches.
What to do to be rid of bugs?
How are we to free ourselves from bed bugs? The reply is simple and plain. We need determination to purge bed bugs.
A lot of tolerance and determination is required to eradicate bed bugs. A considerable sum of money is also to be set apart.
The topmost, safe, very successful and most smart method or technique to remove bed bug is to engage or request qualified help of pest controlling companies.
The companies eradicating pests also clear various other transients in the house like pests and insects and not only the bed bug
The qualified pest controller has invested in paraphernalia to remove bed bugs. You will be surprised to note how sophisticated the bed bugs’ termination process has become.
Comprehending the scientific aspects of removing bed bugs
To competently and successfully purge bed bugs, the pest control expert uses pesticides or insecticides made of specific chemicals
Since the chemicals present in such substances are very severe and lethal, it is suggested that you allow them to use it. In simple words, allow the specialist pest controller to do as he likes.
Do not interfere in the profession of others when you have professions of your own. The personnel from pest control know their job, as they are doing it for a long time.
Have trust in them and permit them to perform the task. Step aside and interfere only when told.
The pest control expert will instruct on the method of handling furniture containing pesticide residues. If you would not like to be poisoned or killed, listen carefully to the instructions.
Remember that there are lots of things around us about which we have no knowledge even though we are smart. Chemical and noxious substrates may be one of those.
What if professionals are absent?
If for a lot of varied reasons you cannot find the services of pest control specialist you should not be sad.
Being aware of the harm and health hazards of the toxic chemicals present in pesticides, you must handle every substance with the most care and carefulness.
Remember that in order to kill the bed bugs or get rid of them the pesticide formulation has to be very strong and deadly since insects, plus bed bugs have tough and durable systems.
Unfortunately humans are not as tough. More than hundreds of cases of poison and death due to inhaling or coming in contact with pesticide are reported by pest control companies.
Many of such cases went so far as to be really serious and fatal.
In order to avert such an occurrence, you have to ensure that each pesticide is handled very carefully and avoid spraying of pesticide in unnecessary areas
The areas sprayed should be cleaned up for probable residues afterwards.
You can get away with clearing bedbugs, even though it is very hard, if appropriate action is taken and you are smart.

Is it the landlord/management’s job to get rid of pests in Colorado?
about 6 months ago - 2 comments
I just moved into an apartment in Denver/Glendale less than a week ago. I signed a six month lease. The lease does not cover pest control. Here is what I’ve been through: killed 25+ roaches within my first three days here. Thursday my apartment was sprayed, but I found and killed nine later that night.
I have bed bug bites on my leg, arm, chest, and even my face.
Management tried to say I brought these with me, but I had to look roaches up to see what they even looked like. I have never had bed bugs. I don’t feel remotely comfortable living here, and upon speaking with management/other tenants this is an ongoing problem that isn’t going to be fixed.
When I was being shown the apartment it was during the daytime, and I was told there were “a few bugs from time to time”, not PESTS. I realize I should have asked, but I am not experienced with this.
Is this considered a breach of lease? If not, how would I get out of my lease and not pay the fees?

How to Keep Pests Out of Your Garden- Naturally!
about 9 months ago - No comments

Everyone is always looking for a natural way to keep pests and animals out of their garden. There are some wonderful natural pest and animal deterrents that are available right in your kitchen, and they are all safe for children and food gardens.
1. Kitty-B-Gone- To keep cats out of the vegetable garden, you can use a combination of different natural substances. Cats abhor the smell of citrus and black pepper oil. Next time you eat an orange or a grapefruit, peel the rinds and toss them around in your vegetable garden. Sprinkling a large amount of black pepper also works well, although it can get expensive. Black pepper works best in areas that will not be getting a lot of water. You can also use black pepper underneath the porch or other spots in order to prevent a “litter box” area. Chili flakes work well, also, but are probably not a good idea if you have small children.
You can also try planting the Coleus-Canina plant, a weed originating in Europe. It is also known as the “Scardy-Cat” plant because it emits an odor that felines hate. You can request this plant at your local nursery and plant it around any garden that you want cats to stay out of!
2. Natural Aphid Killer- Did you know that you can kill aphids on roses and other plants simply by spraying them with a diluted solution made with household dish soap and tepid water? It’s true! Just put a small amount of dish soap in a squirt bottle with some water and spray away! The aphids die instantly and the plants are usually just fine. This method is so much safer than using pesticides, especially with food plants.
Investing in some ladybugs is also a great way to kill aphids. Ladybugs have a voracious appetite for aphids and other soft-bodied pests. They can help your garden become pest and insecticide-free.
3. Seaweed Mulch- Mulch made from seaweed is good for the soil and also deters pests. Seaweed mulch contains loads of vitamins and promotes healthy plant growth. An added bonus is that it deters slugs and snails.
There is lots of valuable information on the internet for gardeners that wish to plant and maintain gardens naturally. Your garden will become a more natural and balanced place for the healthy production of vegetables and flowers. Attracting and promoting beneficial insects, mulching techniques, and little bit of research can help you have the organic garden of your dreams.

Getting Rid Of Annoying Pests – Some Useful Tips
about 9 months ago - No comments

Movies may depict these bed bugs as adorable and funny creatures in a humorous and an adventurous context. Science may consider these creatures amazing and awesome because of their characteristics and physical structure
But in reality you’ll definitely despise and detest them. All these descriptions are referring bed bugs and mites.
These insects are very tiny and infinitesimal and thrive in our homes. There must be something that makes them attracted to people and prove them undesirable transients.
Unlike other organisms, which live with you and share a cordial relationship with you known as ‘commesalism’ (which is not considered a burden), bed bugs and mites are irritating and they pester and affect people.
Mites feed on vulnerable fixtures or furniture in your house. There’s very little evidence to prove that mites bite people and animals. Normally, they don’t have a basic instinct to do such things
But bed bugs have to infest on people for survival, because they suck blood from unwilling and unsuspicious victims for food.
Bed bugs have a long, elongated and sharp beak that enables them to pierce through the skin of the victims and enjoy the reservoir of blood available in plenty.
Generally, bed bugs hunt for blood during the night, when the host is fast asleep. Bed bug bites are usually mild and negligible and you’ll hardly be able to feel them because they are very tiny.
Not to worry. Bed bugs can’t suck too much of blood. A bed bug usually sucks not more than 1/16th of a milliliter of blood.
This quantity is negligible.
Curbing bed bugs and mites
The uneasiness caused by bed bugs and mites are very annoying and you’ll surely want to get rid off them from your life.
There are many insecticides, available in the market that can make extermination possible
Substances that destroy bed bugs and mites are usually sprays. Sprays destroy of the protective waxy covering on bed bugs and mites.
These sprays have ingredients in common. These sprays have powdered silica or glass. Powdered, as in, they’re ground to the tiniest size possible.
Why silica and glass? This is because these two substances can permeate through any surface. Since the skin of mites and bed bugs are very hard, it calls for harsh and potent chemicals to destroy the skin easily.
Powdered glass and silica can do wonders.
Insecticides work according to their chemical composition. When the bed bugs and mites are subjected to these chemicals, the powdered silica or glass cuts through their outer covering.
Destroying the outer protective covering, the system of the bed bugs and mites become vulnerable and the chemicals can easily get into their systems.
Chemicals usually remove the water content or moisture from the viscera (insides) of bed bugs and mites.
This process guarantees the destruction of bed bugs and mites
Be careful
They may be very efficient in exterminating bed bugs and mites, be sure to handle insecticides and pesticides with a lot of care.
Read all the labels of these sprays before using them so that you get an idea of their extremely poisonous nature.
In case of accidental inhalation or consumption, immediately seek first aid and follow the precautionary measures as recommended by the manufacturer.
It may your highest priority to exterminate mites and bed bugs, but play safe while handling these insecticides. Do not get exterminated along with the insects.

Garden Pests – Are They Interfering With Your Gardening Experience
about 9 months ago - No comments

Gardening can be considered a simple process only if we can perform this task without the pests interfering and attacking our plants. These little pests even though are little in size , they are capable of causing a tremendous havoc . So it is neccessary to watch out for them.
The analogy that exists between maintaining our health conditions and maintaining the garden is tremendous. By keeping our health we are able to prevent human illness, similarly we can keep the pests away from our plants by maintaining strict garden cleanliness. The wastes that we dump becomes the place where these insects can breed. Those spots which we do not care for and are unkempt does more harm than a compost pile.
You can follow certain rules to keep the pests down. The earthworms can aid us in stirring up the soil and thus the soil is open to water as well as air. Various birds such as sparrows, chickadees, robins, meadow, orioles and larks help us by feeding on the pests. Ichneumon – fly also does the same job and helps us , but the toads are the best deal. They help us as they can consume a large number of insects in one single meal. Now we have a reason to love toads and they sure do deserve kind treatment.
It is neccessary for every gardener to make his/her garden as attractive a place to toads and birds. The only way to attract can be done is by housing birdhouses in your garden and by sprinkling grain. Water-Place is also an other alternative to attract birds. If you prefer toads to birds then we have to find a different way to attract them. Toads like to rest in shade and during nights they get to work. Toads prefer their food live rather than kill and eat. So equipped with this information toads can be drawn to your garden by fixing up few stones underneath a shrub with damp leaves carpeting will do the trick.
Leaving aside these little helpers we are talking about, we can classify the pests into two kinds based on their working methodology. There are some which bite persistently at the plants while there are others which are capable of sucking the juices.Catterpillars and grasshoppers are of the former kind and have a mouth to do the required damage while plant lice, mosquitoes belong to the latter. These second category pests are the worst as they fasten themselves around the plant and feed on the plant’s life.
These pests can be killed by spraying a poison which contains bordeaux mixture on the plants, which these pests ingest along with the plants.
Apart from this poison we can use insecticides which attacks the insect directly.Insecticides when sprayed on the plants attack the insect’s body in a deadly way and these pests can be dealt with.
So far we talkid about the pests which work over the ground. There are some undergroung pests like ant hills. In order to fight these we must be careful and follow the following remedies.
One of the questions that is asked time and again is ‘How to tell what kind of insect is causing the destruction of my garden?’ The only solution that I can provide is by investigating the destruction and also by spoting the insect reponsible for the destruction, but the problem ios that ‘seeing the insect’ is a very tough task to accomplish. One season there were cutworms in my garden and i never sighted one, but I was able to see the devastation caused. We can confirm the presence of a cutworm if we spot stalks of plants are cut off completely.
If you own a vegetable garden , then you most probably will be having troubles with tomato worms. These worms are large yellow in colour or they are green stripped and they eat their way into fruits.
Finally, there is this squash bug which is another troublesome pest. It has a slender and long body and is brown in colour. Similar to squah bugs there are other pests like potato bug ,which can be identified by its typical black and yellow stripes in its back. These are the most typical pests to hunt your garden.

From Washington to Atlanta, Exterminating Pests the Green Way
about 9 months ago - No comments

Wherever you are in the United States – from Washington to Atlanta – exterminating pests can be a cinch. The prevailing misconception about pesticides these days is that when a product is labeled “natural” or “organic,” it is environmentally safe. While this may not always be true, there is still a host of ways to respect nature while taking care of unwanted visitors. Here are a few:
For moderate cases of insect infestations, go with botanical solutions. Cedar oil, for one is an organic, natural and non-toxic insect repellent. Because it’s safe for human skin—and smells rather good to boot—there are no restrictions to how it can be used. Apply it on your skin or treat your couch or beddings with it in order to ward off mosquitoes, fleas, cockroaches and ants. Ornamental plants often serve as breeding houses for bad bugs. In the case of aphids, think twice about the chemical solution. Oftentimes, this type of bug can be washed away by a strong stream of water. For outdoor mosquito invasions you can grow the plant Citrosa Geranium on your porch or patio. For more stubborn parasites, insecticidal soap can be a worthy alternative to chemical products. Unlike the latter, insecticidal soap is safe for plants, thus it can be sprayed directly on to plants or wherever the insect infestation is without running the risk of poisoning the area.
These tips are effective only to a certain extent. For more extreme cases, contact an Atlanta exterminating company.

They told us in the past that pesticides like DDT were safe to kill bugs, including bed bugs. But they turned out to be carcinogenic. Eliminating Bed Bugs – Ways To Keep Your Home Free From These Pests

Bed bugs are surely a pain in the neck. Medical findings may have ruled out that they cannot re-transmit diseases and cause epidemic outbreak, but that doesn’t make them less hated as they surely make lives miserable for some people with infested homes. Just how could these people lead normal lives when their sleep and rest are not as relaxing as before. Imagine waking up early because you need to scratch the site from where they bit you. Most often it is just not an itch but results to painful skin infection.
To get back to normalcy is to decide no less than to eradicate this little pests from your home. First, one has to get clear information on the characteristics of the bed bugs and eventually on how to detect them and plan for its annihilation. Bed bugs are so tiny that it could hide in small crevices of the flooring, beds, matresses, furnitures, upholsteries. Basically it where humans tend to stay in prolonged period like when sleeping or resting. They could also hide in cabinets, carpets, curtains, walls, and ceilings.
They feed in a very smart way choosing an hour before dawn just at the time when humans are already fast asleep. They have two tubes coming out of their mouth. They suck blood through one tube while injecting coagulants and anesthetics through the other. This makes the process undetected by its victim and only feels the itch after the effect of the anesthesia is gone for about an hour which is already time to wake up. When most of the bugs have already hidden back to their secret crevices.
To detect them, the best way is to hunt for them at their chosen hunting hour which is an hour before dawn. Care must be taken such that movements are minimized while lights are off in the room and the living rooms. Use a flashlight and do not turn the room lighting. If they sense sudden movements and lights are turned on, they scamper away in all directions like ants. If this is properly done, luck is more that possibly you will find them conglomerating outside of their crevices in a corner of the mattress, beds, headboard or chairs.
Now that you know the secret habitat locations, plan a program of action to get rid of the pests. There are several options to adapt in eradicating their race in your homes. The best is to contract the help of professional pest control services. However, you can do it yourself to save on cost.
There are chemical and non-chemical methods by which the bugs could be taken cared of. There are insecticides in spray form or gels and powders. There are repellants and killers or both at the same time. Repellant sprays and gels prevent them from getting back to the hiding places. There are powder forms are lethal that kills them on contact.
Non chemical methods uses basic housekeeping. Free the house of clutters, bring out the infested furnitures, mattresses and pressure wash them with hot water and soap. If the furnitures are too much infested, leave them out in the sun to dry on prolonged period and do it all over again. Vacuum cleaners may be used but make sure the vacuum bag with pests inside are disposed of properly in fire or hot water.
A combination of chemical and non-chemical methods will be the best approach to adapt.
As prevention for recurrence, take all precautions by keeping your house clean. Make sure new visitors from other places have their luggages examined first especially if they have stayed in hotels that are infested with bed bugs.

Protect Your Vegetables From Garden Pests
about 9 months ago - No comments

If you have a garden it goes without saying that you will always have an assortment of garden insects. The trick is to know if the bug you found is friend or foe.
To keep your garden healthy and free from the bugs that eat your vegetables and plants for lunch, learn to identify the bad bugs early, and let the good bugs go ahead and do their work unhindered, as they help by feeding on your plants predators and also help in pollination.
When insect pests attack your garden plants, what you need to do is to identify the insect. This will help you to control it, be prepared, and know what plants are favored by which insects, and what time of the year they are active.
Look for clues on your plants to identify vegetable garden pests. Chewed leaves or flowers, black or gray spots on the leaves and other signs point to various pests. Each garden pest leaves telltale clues. Did the pest eat flowers off the plant high up on the stem? Did a nocturnal visitor chew holes through the leaves, or only the edges of the leaf? Do you see shiny silvery streaks or snail shells around the garden? A close look at the damage will reveal clues about the offending garden pest.
Aphids attack the leaves and stems of many vegetables and plants. Plants that are under attack by a large number of aphids may show signs such as reduced growth, wilted leaves, drying branches, stunted needles, and curled foliage. Look for clusters of the little bugs; they can also pass on viruses to your plants which causes them to die. They multiply quickly so you need to be alert; the tiny, pear-shaped pests often appear in the spring and feast on your plants’ tender new leaves. Aphids come in many colors including green, black, brown, red, and pink. Aphids can quite easily be dislodged from your plant with a steady stream of water from your hosepipe or you can rub them off your plants, wearing gloves.
Ladybirds are a natural predator of aphids, as are lacewings, praying mantis and spiders, so encourage these to your garden. As a last resort, spray carefully with an insecticide such as insecticidal soap to eliminate aphids.
Slugs and snails love to chew on leaves, particularly plants growing in moist, shady locations. If you don’t seethem during the day you can often spot the trail of slime that they have left behind and there will be large holes in the leaves. You can trap slugs and snails by sinking containers of beer into your garden near damaged plants. Or sprinkle diatomaceous earth around affected plants.
The tomato hornworm eats tomato plant leaves and can strip a plant bare within hours. One natural remedy for repelling hornworms is to plant marigolds in close proximity to the tomatoes. Grasshoppers chew the leaves of vegetables and plants and can decimate a garden overnight. Birds eat grasshoppers, so attracting birds keeps them in check.
Caterpillars have huge appetites and have been known to consume entire plants almost overnight. Try to identify caterpillars before killing them. They may be an important species of butterfly or moth and not a pest at all. You can pluck caterpillar pests by hand; they can often be found on the undersides of leaves. If physical removal isn’t practical, a bacterial spray with Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) will control caterpillars.
The Colorado potato beetle plagues potatoes, eggplants, tomatoes and peppers. Adult beetles are oval and about half the size of your thumbnail. They have red heads and black and yellow stripes down their back. Females lay clusters of bright orange oval eggs on the underside of leaves. Hand picking is the gardener’s best defense against Colorado potato beetles. Knock any beetles and larvae you find into a can of soapy water to dispose of them. For major outbreaks, spray Bt San Diego while larvae are small. As a deterrent, spread thick organic mulch over the garden to make it hard for emerging beetles to reach plants in the spring.
Japanese beetles are the scourge of many gardens. Identify them by their green and golden brown bodies and holes chewed in the middle of leaves. They attack roses, hollyhocks, morning glories, and many other flowers and vegetables.
Cucumber beetles eat holes in the leaves and roots of cucumbers, corn and other members of the squash family. They have oval bodies with yellow and black stripes or spots. To control, rotate crops each year. Applying a heavy layer of mulch around plants may help curb attacks. Attract predators such as ladybugs and parasitic wasps. If necessary, apply neem oil, a botanical pesticide, to the soil to kill larvae.
Cutworms are moth larvae that live in the soil and come out at night to feast on new seedlings. Plants are often cut off completely at or just below the soil surface. Create a barrier around new plants with a plastic bottle, cut the top off and place the collar around the plant and push into the soil to prevent the cutworm from attacking the stem. Birds such as blue jays, sparrows, blackbirds and wrens feed on cutworms. Attract birds by placing bird feeders close to infested areas. You can also purchase parasitic nematodes to eat cutworms in the soil.
Prevention is better than cure every time; you should try companion planting which is favored by many experienced gardeners to deter most vegetable garden pests.
